Two separate formulas. One for day and one for night relief.
Menopause
is often called the "change of life". There are two stages of menopause
- perimenopause, which is the time prior to menopause, and
postmenopause, which is the time after menopause.
As the body
ages, the ovaries reduce their production of two main hormones,
oestrogen and progesterone. Menopause occurs slowly over time, and
symptoms vary depending on the decline in hormonal levels and changes
in hormonal balance.
Menopause Symptoms
Menopause
is sometimes seen as a reproductive disorder, however those with a
holistic view of health understand it is a natural process. This
gradual process affects not only the reproductive system, but also
other organ systems, such as the adrenal glands, cardiovascular,
musculo-skeletal, and nervous systems. This contributes to the varied
symptoms that women experience.
Typically most women experience
menopause in their 50's, however menopause symptoms can develop in
women in their 40's and even their 30's. Not all women have menopausal
symptoms, but about 70% experience hot flushes and 40% suffer from
depression.
Perimenopausal changes usually occur for 1-2 years.
Symptoms may include irregular periods, hot flushes, headaches, night
sweats, and sleep disturbances.
Symptoms occurring
postmenopausally may last from 5-10 years. The continuing decline in
oestrogen and progesterone production contributes to symptoms such as
lethargy, fatigue, joint pain, muscle weakness and urinary incontinence.
Women
may experience other changes in emotional wellbeing such as
irritability, mood swings, panic attacks, anxiety, lowered libido and
poor memory.
As time continues, lowered oestrogen and
progesterone levels can give rise to symptoms such as dry skin, vaginal
changes, thinning of scalp hair, cataract formation, senile dementia,
and more significant changes including osteoporosis and cardiovascular
disease.
